Ready, set, go. Every student that is in school has a certain routine every morning and after school to feel set for the day.
Every morning High School students wake up to their alarms at various times. Many students wake up very early where others wake up later on. Morning routines vary from where some students wake up early to get a workout in, to where others wake up and rush out the door. How a student starts their morning can affect their mood and attention at school.
“I wake up at 5:30 a.m. and lay in my bed, scrolling on my phone for a while,” senior Julia Santo said. “Then, I get up and head to the bathroom. I do my makeup and my hair, and that takes up most of my time in the morning. Next, I pick out an outfit for the day and try on different outfits till I find one I like. Then, I leave my house and head to school.”
“In the morning, I usually wake up around 5:35, brush my teeth, wash my face, and get dressed for school,” freshman Anthony Pace said. “I eat a quick breakfast and check my phone for messages before heading out to my friend’s car. After school, I usually go straight home or get food. I like to relax by playing video games or hanging out with friends before dinner, then get ready for bed so I can do it all again the next day.”
“For my morning routine, I wake up at 5:40 a.m., then I head to the bathroom and put my clothes on while brushing my teeth for the day,” freshman Emily Borland said. “After that, I go and do my makeup and put on perfume, then my sister drives me to school with her. After I get home from school, it’s around dinner time since I had volleyball practice. I eat, then spend time with my family before getting ready for bed.”
“I usually wake up around 6 in the morning, shower quickly, and get dressed for school,” freshman Myasia Gilbert said. “I eat breakfast while strolling through my phone and then grab my backpack before heading out. After school, I usually go to band practice or hang out with friends for a bit. When I get home, I do my homework, eat dinner, and then relax by listening to music or watching videos before going to bed.”
“In the morning, I wake up at 6:15 a.m. and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face,” senior Jaclyn Dudde said. “Then, I head to my vanity to put on makeup and brush my hair. Lastly, I change into my outfit for the school day and head out the door. After school, I have volleyball practice currently, so I get home around dinner time. I eat dinner, then shower and head to bed after playing on my phone for a little bit.”
