After Hours, the Dawn is over and it’s time for a new era for The Weeknd.
Ever since 2016, every two years, The Weeknd has released a new album and this year seemed to be no different. People are anticipating a release because The Weeknd posted on Instagram saying, “Did you know you’re experiencing a Trilogy.” This is fitting because he’s ending his career the same way he started it, with a Trilogy.
“I’m excited to hear his album because it’s the end of his second Trilogy album in his career,” senior Lilian Ignace said.
This Trilogy began in 2020 with the release of what many people believe to be his best album to date in “After Hours.” This is mostly an album about Hollywood and him showing vulnerability for the first time in his career. In this emotional album he chooses to take accountability. In 2022, he released “Dawn FM” with not as much commercial promotion. This album shows him finally trying to change his ways and regretting his past. For the first time in this album Abel shows us optimism going into his next album.
“I am thrilled to hear his new album because his other two were great and I have high hopes for this one,” junior Sullman Ali said.
His new upcoming album, although the name has not been announced, many say it will be called “After Life,” due to the skit, “Every Angel Is Terrifying” on “Dawn FM,” but this isn’t confirmed. No matter what this album will be called, it seems to be anticipated to be his most unique.
“I’m really excited for The Weeknd’s new album because it will be his last album as The Weeknd, and I am a big fan of his previous albums. I am excited to see how it connects to ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’ and completes that trilogy,” junior Luke Martin said.
Even with all the hype and hints the album still has no release date, name or cover, but everyone is buzzing for its release.
