After Hours, the Dawn is over and it’s time for a new era for The Weeknd.
Ever since 2016, every two years, Canadian pop star Abel Tesfaye better known as The Weeknd has released a new album and this year seemed to be no different. the hype for the release started when Abel posted on Instagram saying, “Did you know you’re experiencing a Trilogy.” this teaser seems to have built up the fans anticipation for the release.
“I’m excited to hear his album,” senior Lilian Ignace said. “it’s the end of the second Trilogy album in his career.”
This Trilogy began in 2020 with the release of one of his most commercially successful albums in After Hours. This album is mostly about Hollywood and him showing vulnerability for the first time in his career. In this emotional album he chooses to take accountability. In 2022, he released “Dawn FM” with not as much commercial promotion. This album shows him finally trying to change his ways and regretting his past. For the first time in this album Abel shows us optimism going into his next album.
“I am thrilled to hear his new album” junior Sulman Ali said. “His other two were great and I have high hopes for this one.”
although the name for the album has not been announced, many say it will be called After Life, due to the skit, “Every Angel Is Terrifying” on “Dawn FM,” but this isn’t confirmed. with the way his last two projects were very connected many anticipate that this new album will connect to the others.
“I’m really excited for the new album because it will be his last album as The Weeknd.” junior Lucas Martin said. “I am a big fan of his previous albums. I am excited to see how it connects to ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’ and completes that trilogy.”
Even with all the hype and hints the album still has no release date, name or cover, but everyone is buzzing for its release.
