Students claim that spirit week could be even more fun if new themes were added or old ones were brought back, giving them a chance to show off their personalities and interests.
“I wish they would put on an Underground Artist Day, where you dress up as your favorite artist,” junior Ariana Tucker said. “But I also miss the Hawaii Day, because they had flowers and everything.”
Others agreed that music-themed days would be a hit, especially for students who want to showcase their concert memories. From vintage band tees to merch from recent tours, students felt it would be a fun way to express their music tastes and even spark conversations about shared artists or favorite shows. Many mentioned that music already connects people across the school, so a spirit day centered on it could bring even more excitement and unity
“I would do concert shirts or band tees day,” junior Aiden Kemp said. “I think I would choose this day because I have a lot of concert tees that I would like to show off and see everyone else’s. I also have signed merch that I want to flex.”
For some, it’s not just about showing off merch, but about paying tribute to the artists who inspire their personal style. Students explained that wearing these shirts is a way of carrying a piece of their favorite musicians with them, reminiscing concerts that became core memories, or showcasing the artists whose fashion and creativity influence how they express themselves today. To many, it’s more than clothing, it’s a statement about identity and connection.
“I wish I could’ve dressed as OsomaSon because he’s the best-dressed rapper to me,” senior Aaron Secord said. “His style inspired how I dress and my sense of fashion.”
From music inspired outfits to throwback favorites, many feel these changes would give them more ways to showcase their personalities, styles, and interests.
