Placing their bags in the cars, the athletes get ready for their 5-day journey to Bambi Lake.
On August 14-18th, 2025, the school’s cross-country athletes went to Bambi Lake Camp.
“We would wake up very early, and we would go down to the main room, and we would start our first run which was usually an hour,” sophomore Grace McDonald said. “Then, we would eat breakfast that was usually bad and had chill time to do our own things. Then we would eat lunch and have more independent time and then have our second run of the day. After that run, we would have team-based time together. Then, we had dinner, and for the rest of the night, we would spend time together as a team until Allmacher would tell us to go to bed, even though we would talk until midnight.”
They had an unplanned schedule for the most part each day, but during free times, runners would choose their own things to do. Everyone found different parts of camp to be their favorite.
“My favorite part of each day was the down time and what we got to do with each other,” senior Gianna D’Angelo said. “I also liked getting ready with each other before meals.”
There were special moments that stuck out from the day-to-day activities that left athletes with memories. There were moments such as the lake day, the waterslide, and the campfire.
“My favorite moment was the campfire because the team got to bond a lot, and we played music and danced,” senior Amanda Dickinson said. “The team also stargazed since the stars were pretty.”
The 5-day journey to Bambi Lake was filled with training and memories to help the athletes throughout the season.
