Wrapped in a blanket with a laptop open and notes nearby, fingers wander through a gallery for new ideas and visuals.
Pinterest isn’t just a visual board; it’s a place for possibilities that unlock billions of ideas for students from helping with projects, to getting inspiration for outfits.
“I use Pinterest for nail inspo. and also banners for football,” senior Emma O’Connor said. “We created banners based off the theme, so the last week was rodeo, and we held it up as the players ran though the field. The whole banner was made off of inspiration from Pinterest.”
While some students use Pinterest to help for school spirit inspiration, others use the app in more personal ways, like for finding ways to accessorize and match the aesthetic they want to go for.
“It gives me inspiration for when I have a piece of clothing I don’t know how to style,” senior Nick Cacaj said. “For example, this corduroy zip-up I didn’t know what to pair with, so I found a couple ways to style it on Pinterest.”
The platform shares various styles, tips, and aesthetics on students’ personal feeds that have been created based on their likes and interests through the app’s algorithm. This helps users express themselves through fashion and their clothing style with being able to find pieces of clothing they find cute and would want to wear.
“Something I like about Pinterest is how there are so many different styles you can find,” senior Amanda Dickinson said.
Shutting their laptops, students feel relieved being able to rely on Pinterest for turning inspiration into action one pin at a time.
