As senior year wraps up, the weather warms, and water wars begin. Senior year is full of milestones, and as seniors are taking their final laps, water wars are one of the last markers.
“Running water wars so far has been not only time-consuming, but fulfilling,” 2025 graduate Sully Gambone said. “Seeing all the funny eliminations and insane DQs always makes up for the headache that comes with being part of running it.
On April 6th, seniors Gavin Guglielmetti and Solomon Gambone, the Class of 2025’s student section leaders, made it official. The 2025 Water Wars Instagram page was made, signaling the start of one of the most anticipated senior traditions. Immediately after the announcement, students sprang into action. Teams began to form, group chats lit up, and creative–and often hilarious–team names started flooding in. The official tournament bracket was scheduled to be made live, April 6th at 9:30 PM, setting the stage for what’s sure to be a wacky and unforgettable battle for senior class supremacy. Let the soaking begin.
“The second I saw my team name, we all got prepared,” 2025 graduate Ava Kothe said. “It got serious pretty fast. My phone blew up with messages, and we were already planning sneak attacks before the bracket reveal was even over.”
Students got to live-react as their placement in the Water Wars bracket was revealed. The excitement was electric. Teams held their breath, waiting to hear their name called right after their first-round opponents. Within seconds, phones lit up. Group chats buzzed with strategy, and texts flew as players scrambled to gather intel and “dirt” on their competition.
“It was definitely hard at first trying to find all the right info and track people down,” 2025 graduate Natalie Elias said. “But honestly, staking out people’s gyms and houses turned out to be a lot of fun, and it got me talking to classmates I probably never would’ve connected with otherwise.”
