Over the month of December, cheer is still going on. Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean they don’t have competitions. They still have to practice just as hard.cheerleaders do competitions all around different schools showing off their amazing talent. There are still certain skills needed to do, varsity and things they look for. There are no cuts because cheerleaders are so needed. The coaches can see that everyone has a special talent so no matter what someone will get a spot. but It will still take a lot of training and practice.
“I love doing cheer because of all the positive energy being brought and the dances show it too.” said 9thFreshman Shay Wiland (JV cheer). My favorite dance is the crazy clap. Shay has a lot of energy which shows how excited she is to put in the effort and show her coach and teammates what she’s capable of. Not everyone faces the same challenges like supporting someone or being the one in the air but no matter what they all get through it.
“Cheer has its challenges with being competitive because we have to give it our all but it just shows us how much dedication we have doing this sport” said Savanna Rush 9th grade (JV cheer). Cheerleaders know that cheer is no easy sport and is a lot to handle which is why they always put in their max amount of effort. They put hours into practice to get onto the team they want or feel they deserve.
“ I’m very dedicated to cheer, and am so happy that this opportunity to be on Varsity was given to me. I worked so hard for this and it shows it all paid off.” said sophomore Celina (varsity.)
Cheerleaders might look like what they do is easy but in reality it’s nothing easy. They make it known that they worked for this position and would never give it up.
