From the first track to the last, Sabrina Carpenter’s latest release captured listeners’ attention the whole way through.
Sabrina Carpenter’s most recently released album, titled “Short n’ Sweet,” was a hit among many. This proved by its nomination for Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards and the total of six Grammy nominations it earned for the singer overall.
The album had multiple songs go viral outside of streaming and radio on apps such as TikTok. These songs include “Please Please Please” and “Espresso,” two singles which were released prior to the album’s release.
“Short n’ Sweet” has definitely won out in being nominated for the most competitive Grammy categories for a reason. The album is not only musically ingenious, but also a fun and somewhat silly listen throughout. With Sabrina’s pun-making skill and her use of double entendre, songs can be listened to multiple times and still have new wordplays discovered.
The album was nominated for six Grammys (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album). Sabrina’s lyricism is fantastic, proven through her ease of pun usage and jokes while still being able to make certain songs on the album be taken very seriously. It also has a variety of genres all on one album.
Following the album, the music videos released were entertaining and unique. It also received a score of 82 on Metacritic and earned number 1 debut on billboard.
Although the album is called “Short n’ Sweet,” fans were slightly disappointed since both the album itself and the songs on it are so short. Even though it aligns with the album’s name, fans would have enjoyed hearing more from Carpenter. Other than that, there aren’t many cons to this new release.
Carpenter’s 2024 release has taken the public by storm with its fantastic no-skip track list. The album has had great positive reviews both by the general public and critics. These responses all point to Carpenter’s new album being a certified hit.
This album deserves a 10/10, so listen to the album as soon as possible in order to get a taste of Sabrina’s sweet skills in both vocal talents and lyricism. Also, be sure to take a look at her older albums as they give a different view of Carpenter’s skills as an artist.
