“Chromakopia” by Tyler, The Creator was released on October 28, 2024 and since then, no one has been able to shut up about it. It debuted as No. 1 on the top 200 Billboard chart.
The album holds a bunch of different types of songs by Tyler, some are chill, and some are more hype. This is his first album that was completely written and produced by him. He also has a good number of famous features to help him out on this album with certain songs, though some are just him singing. Some of those features include Daniel Caesar, Doechii, ScHoolboy Q, Lil Wayne, and a few more.
This album was fantastic, and most are huge fans. There’s not a single song I don’t like and I even stand to argue this is one of his best albums yet. It didn’t have the majority of one type of song from another, it was a great mix that all had very good transitions into the next song, if you listen to the album in order.
There’s a wide variety of different types of music. It’s hard to compare the songs which are good because they’re all so different and well made. No one cannot compare “Darling, I” to “Sticky” because one is much calmer as the other is hype and in your face. This makes it the perfect album to listen to in any circumstance. The difference between each song makes this album unique which is a great thing.
There were many hints to Frank Ocean being on this album, like it being released on his birthday, a white Ferrari in the ‘NOID’ music video, and it sounding like his vocals on “St. Chroma”. But, to no avail he was not featured on the album and Frank returning to the music industry is still a mystery. It’s very unfortunate because many fans had their hopes up and were looking forward to seeing him on the album.
Overall, this album did fantastic, and all his fans seem to think so. Everyone posts about it on TikTok and it hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts. This album also took three years to make whereas he usually releases every two years, so he put a lot of extra work into making this album special for him and all his fans.
Recommendations for music like this are Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Steve Lacy, and other Tyler albums because they have a similar vibe. This album a 9/10 just for the pure fact the lyrics are so well written, and the beats are so good.
