The gymnasium buzzes with excitement as sneakers squeak on the polished floor, and the echoes of laughter fill the air.
Henry Ford II High Schools Thanksgiving fundraiser combines a dodgeball game and a movie day to support local families in need this holiday season.
“I’m very excited for the dodgeball game,” senior Jack Thawzin said. “I will be preparing to participate.” As excitement builds around upcoming school events, students are eager to showcase their skills on the court and enjoy time together in a more relaxed setting. The dodgeball event will take place 1st to 3rd hour and the movie will be 5-6th hour on November 26th. “I enjoyed the movie day because it was relaxing,” senior Nudrat Chowdury said. “It was close to the end of the semester, so it helped with taking our mind off upcoming exams.”
This atmosphere of relaxation and fun is what makes these events so special, especially considering that last year’s fundraiser raised an impressive $3,000, which benefited various school programs.
Building on tha6t spirit of friendly competition and community engagement, many students are gearing up for the dodgeball tournament.
“Last year my team came second place in the dodgeball tournament,” senior Brennan Filie said. “with preparation, I expect for team to come in 1st this year.” As the final buzzer sounds, cheers erupt in the gym, and the aroma of popcorn wafts from the movie area, until students unite in joyful celebration. Laughter and chatter fill the halls, leaving a warm sense of community and gratitude as everyone.
