With the April draft quickly approaching, Metro-Detroit residents are gearing up for an exciting and unique opportunity for the city. Residents are anticipating and preparing for the upcoming 2024 draft. “I’m excited, I can’t wait to go downtown and experience this unique opportunity,” senior Brayden Bull said. Bull isn’t the only one going, Detroit police except over 400,000 people to show up on the first day alone. Residents want to see Detroit as a bustling city and it’s a good chance to make a good name for the city. Story continues below advertisement “I know the food will be great down there, the vibe, the stage, everything about it is hype,” sophomore Alex Oxie said. With no suprise, the draft had nearly 700,000 attendants and that doesn’t include how many people were downtown in general smashing the record showing the true pride of loins fans and Detroiters. “There were so many people I could barely move, I tried finding a food truck, but the lines were so long I had to wait an hour and then another 20 minutes for my food; it was worth it though,” senior Jordan Dibb said. The draft was a perfect opportunity for Detroit to show the sense of pride of not just as Detroiters, and Metro-Detroiters but as lions fans. |
