U.S. Naval Academy accepts two new students from Henry Ford II High School. Ava Hess and Brady Sheats have gotten into a college suiting their own personal goals.
“I was so happy because this means that everything I did paid off. It was a very long application; I had to miss school for some of the days to get everything I needed,” senior Ava Hess said. “Seeing my letter during 6th hour was such a relief since it was something that I was thinking about since junior year.”
Getting into a school that has a low acceptance rate is a challenge. These students are planning their future in their new Academy. There are also things that the new students will be provided with when they get there.
“The academy is going to provide me with a tuition value that’s well over a million dollars. I’m going to graduate with zero debt,” senior Brady Sheats said . “The U.S. Naval Academy is ranked as the first university in the country. So, I’m hoping that the credentials will help me in the future.”
Hess and Sheets have been admitted and are looking at a bright future in the U.S. Naval Academy. The fact that these two seniors got into a very successful college is impressive. Especially since it is very difficult to get into the school due to its 10.8% acceptance rate.
“It’s definitely difficult to get into the Academy, and it’s outstanding that they got in. It’s really great that they have been accepted,” counselor Gregory Jesko said. “Many students have applied for the U.S. Naval Academy, but most haven’t been able to get in, so it’s incredible that Brady and Ava got accepted.”
As graduation approaches, Hess and Sheats are one step closer to beginning the U.S. Naval Academy.
