Hidden cleverly near the dark house, students wait for the right moment to sprinkle their opponents with their water guns and get them out.
Seniors begin to battle it out through water wars during their last few weeks they have left of high school.
“I woke up at 4:30 a.m. on the first day and left to go get my teammate at 5:30,” senior Kinley Valin said. “We parked in front of my uncle’s house and hid behind a tree until our person came out.”
To stay in water wars for as long as possible seniors will do whatever it takes. That includes skipping school, work, or any extra activities. Staying aware of your surroundings is very important and trusting people, even your closest friends can be very hard.
“I skipped school to make sure I was safe for the first day of water wars,” senior Delaney Sherwood, “but I am still doing things outside of school as normal.”
When seniors are planning out how and when they are going to get their opponents out, they have to be tactful and smart. Sometimes they can go get people out by going alone or in a group. Seniors need to make sure to always keep their water guns loaded and ready to get to someone out.
“My team and I are getting people out together,” senior Maddie Comment said. “We are trying to do as much as we can to stay in long.”
Seniors have their eyes on the prize and will do whatever they can to keep themselves and their team safe.
