Everyone continues the year with AI improving all of the time. Due to the improvement of AI, it is being used more. With new technology, students and teachers grapple with how much AI is acceptable.
“AI is a great tool,” English Teacher Kimberly Sakowski said, “but we need to teach students how to use it correctly so that they can use it for improving writing instead of using it for cheating.”
AI is seen as a tool. It can help in school, at work, or whenever someone needs help. However, there are certain ways that AI is used. One person can use AI a lot differently than what another person uses it for.
“Some ways people can use AI is to maybe cheat or learn. For example, if someone wants to learn a language AI could help with that,” freshman Alexander Martin said. “Personally, I use it for stuff like helping with coding and searching something up, although the information can sometimes be wrong.”

For many, AI can be a tool. Many things that weren’t possible before are now possible due to AI. However, AI can sometimes be a problem. This new tool can be used for cheating in school, too much reliance on AI to get things done, stealing information, and a lot more.
“I know that AI is the wave of the future. Teachers are still trying to wrap their minds around it,” English Teacher Melisa Mathison said . “We have to learn how to use AI as a tool instead of us being the tool. I can even tell when my students use it because some of the information is inaccurate and the information that they copy is sometimes very vague and doesn’t have explanations for all of it.”
AI has many different uses and now that people are using it more often, the AI production keeps expanding in what it can do for society and other things. This can be both good and bad. It depends on how it’s used in certain situations.
