At the edge of their seats, students attend the commons to watch the tournament unfold.
Two days before spring break, students can attend the NCAA tournament watch party with a dollar donation. Along with their purchase, various treats and drinks will be around to enjoy with peers.
“I love March Madness and a lot of students talk about it. It’s also a great way to learn about colleges so I just thought it was a great thing to do as a group before spring break. It’ll be going back into future fun days like stress week or food trucks,” Student Council Adviser Chris Versele said.
With the third quarter being one of the longest quarters students have been looking forward to spring break and with this event, students have a chance to ease into their long-awaited break.
“The Utica students who come for shared time often compliment Ford on the amount of event and spirit days we have,” teacher Angela Pizzo said.
Ford is always active in finding ways to keep the community involved with many spirit days and events that bring up the school’s morale. Their endless efforts don’t go unnoticed.
“I think that it’s awesome, it’s cool we get to watch it in school and make sure our brackets are going well, most people enjoy watching it and I’m glad I get to stay up to date with it,” senior Brayden Lewis said.
Watching closely at the end, students take in the excitement of watching their teams get knocked out of the bracket. Student council allows students to have a break before the big break!
