Students have come back from winter break just to find out that there will be a spring break in four weeks. This break is earlier than in recent years.
“A bunch of districts have made break earlier because of testing. Since the SAT is right after break the district thinks that it’s a good idea to have a little time frame between the test for students to prepare more,” counseling secretary Denise Burke said . “Last year, students came back from break and straight into testing which was stressful.”
Easter is coming up very soon on March 31 during the Spring Break. Some students have some things that they do with their families and their friends during Easter to celebrate it. They get to celebrate a little earlier than usual in 2024.
“For Easter, my parents would hide eggs filled with candy around the house,” freshman Rylin Meagher said. “My sister and I would get our own Easter baskets with little gifts inside them.”
Easter isn’t the only thing that people are looking forward to or planning over break including vacations.
“I’m going to do a lot of spring cleaning for college and prom dress shopping,” senior Ashley McDonald said. “I’m going to do a lot of general shopping and finishing my house application.”
The early spring break is starting in about one and a half weeks from now. It will start on Monday, March 25-31.
