Walking down the hallways, posters lineup the hallway, about the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Club, promising to bring boba to the school store.

This year, the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Club has promised to try to sell boba at the school store. Since boba drinks are a favorite for many students, including AAPI members, the club believes selling it at the school store would allow all students to enjoy a treat from a unique group of cultures.

President of AAPI, Denise Garza says that she is “hoping to get a local boba shop to be able to supply the ingredients.” “Hoping to have the boba’s sold in a similar fashion as the bagels are, so I would try and make an argument that boba can make just as big a profit as the bagels,” exclaims Denise. “The students at the school store would be selling the boba,” answered Denise.

Selling boba at the school store will help the store succeed even more due to the demand of boba from the students. Since many students enjoy treating themselves, having boba on sale will give students more options.

Senior Lily Schaub thinks that “students wanting to sell boba is a good idea because it would bring more variety to the school store and be a nice treat for students.” “I would buy boba probably once every 2 weeks,” claims Lily. Lily believes “students will enjoy drinking boba at school because it is easy to get a drink where you would have to go to a mall to get. And it could be something for students to treat themselves with.”

Giving students the option to purchase boba could even bring more awareness to the club and their motives. The club will gain new members from selling boba because students will see the dedication that the club members are putting in.

“I think many students will want to join AAPI after seeing boba being sold because they will see it will bring attention to the cool activities that we will be doing,” Vice President of AAPI, Leslie Huynh said. “Last year, the president of AAPI wanted to sell boba at the school store but he never got the chance to make that happen so we are trying to make his goal come to life.”

All students will enjoy the benefits of selling boba at the school store because it can inspire them to join a club such as AAPI along with purchasing a cool drink to enjoy.

If the AAPI manages to bring boba to the school store, all students will be able to enjoy a nice treat during the school day.
