Frozen Fever

Emma Buck, Senior Writer

Six years after the release of the first film, the cast of Frozen is coming back to continue the storyline.

The first film came out when we were the core demographic for the film but since it’s taken them six years to release the second film, it’s lost most of the fans that made the film popular. The popularity of the first film caused Disney to milk the film for six years, which led to other short films centered around the same cast, making this one less of Frozen Two and more of Frozen Four. With the release of frozen two, who knows how long they’ll milk this film for and maybe even create a third film.

The film follows Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven on an adventure to find the truth about the enchanted forest and the history of Arendelle and Anna and Elsa’s parents. You meet some new characters that help expand the world of Frozen and also find out some secrets behind characters you already know and love. There’s also growth in the relationship between Anna and Kristoff and a stronger sisterly bond between Anna and Elsa.

It opens up with powerful vocals, showing there’s a stronger soundtrack than the previous film. Another visual increase in the film is the animation with improvements like realistic hair, lighting, and in one specific scene you can visually see the cold breath of a character.

There’s also a few points where the technical audio improved drastically, like the crackling of ice, realistic and on que animal movements and steps. Another notable improvement of the film was the creation of more realistic characters, including dialogue and mannerisms. Even after six years, the humor of the film was able to grow with the demographic that the first movie originally aimed towards. This includes some humorous bits from Olaf and Kristoff.

The film is a must see if you’re a fan of the first film.
