(Non-Spoiler) Avengers Endgame: Review

Marvel fans, movie fans and people of all ages should rejoice for the amazing movie Marvel has produced for us yet again.

“Avengers: Endgame” is the 4th Avenger movie in a thrilling superhero series that consists of over 20 films since 2008 and is the last Avengers installment in the Marvel Comic Universe (MCU).

The three-hour runtime might seem like overkill, but it passes quicker than one would assume. There aren’t many scenes worth leaving for a bathroom break or a refill on your drink and popcorn, so a trip to the bathroom is recommended before engaging in the movie.

In the previous movie, “Avengers: Infinity War,” many movie-goers were left with a newly discovered and raw reaction of seeing the villain of a superhero movie win. In this case, it was the infamous Thanos who reigned victorious after accomplishing his goal of wiping out half the universe.

This movie picks up right where the last one left off, except the events that happen in the first 15 minutes are unexpected and unorthodox for the cliche superhero film. The direction the entire film goes in is unique and and distinctive on its own level.

This new direction doesn’t pull away from what Marvel films do best: mixing excellent comedy with dreadful heart-jerking moments that leaves the audience sorrowful for the characters in the film. Many of the great characters fans have come to love throughout the film series meet their end in an honorable fashion that gains respect from not only the die-hard fans, but also those who don’t even consider themselves fans of the series.

The overall ending of the film is the most satisfying ending that a fan could ever ask for. For many characters, this was their last film and they were all sent off with endings that seemed fit.

For many characters, however, this isn’t the end of the road for their appearance in the MCU. Namely, Spider-Man, the Black Panther, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange are all set for sequels in the coming years.

Marvel fan or not, “Avengers: Endgame” is a must-see for anyone who doesn’t want to feel like they’re living under a rock or seek a roller-coaster ride of emotions.
