Restaurant Reviews

Brendan Moore, Senior Writer

Everyone is doing the same routine everyday. Waking up, getting dressed, doing homework, doing more homework, binge watching tv shows and going to sleep can get old fast. There is one thing that you can change on a daily basis: food. There are a lot of local restaurants in the area that are serving delicious food during quarantine. Supporting local businesses is key for the economy right now. Here are some restaurants in the area that I highly recommend stopping at during quarantine:

Art & Jake’s (Shelby Township: 586-532-9600, Sterling Heights: 586-739-7000)

This sports bar was a great destination for good food and great sports action. They were closed for the first few weeks of quarantine, but they have reopened for take-out. Art & Jake’s have great burgers, wings, pizza and pasta. They are open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. everyday, with delicious food as always. They have locations in Sterling Heights and Shelby Township.

Bad Brads BBQ (586-254-7010)

If you are looking for a great barbecue restaurant, look no further than Bad Brads BBQ. They were voted as the “best barbecue” for five years in a row by “Hour” magazine. Their amazing food only backs that up. You can’t go wrong with any of their items on the menu from ribs, burgers, chicken and so much more. Don’t forget the barbecue sauce either. They are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for take-out and delivery at the Shelby Township location.

Blake’s Cider Mill (586-784-5343)

This place is known for their cider and donuts. However, they will be serving brunch and dinner bundles for Mother’s Day on sunday. They still have their famous donuts, cider, apples and applesauce for sale as well. They are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for curbside pickup. You can prepay through online ordering as well. Blake’s is located in Armada, but it is worth the drive.
